Constitution Day–NIU Professor Gary Glenn,
Does the Constitution Still Matter? And, if so, how?
 Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, 12 p.m., Maddox Theatre
Gary D. Glenn is Distinguished Teaching Professor Emeritus of Political Science at Northern Illinois University. In this talk, he discusses the U.S. Constitution as ratified in 1787 with the idea of “the living Constitution,” a view shared by many that the justices today are at liberty to “give meaning” to the original text. Increasingly, he says, “living constitutional law” matters more than the Constitution.
