This solo exhibition presents a number of Ferris’ recent sculptures and preparatory works, including several drawings and a 3-D model. The larger-than life sculptures, of people the artist knows, are constructed out of reclaimed wood and pigmented glue. Ferris’ visually compelling work, complete with richly colorful surfaces, are heavily influenced by his Lebanese heritage and specifically two inlaid Middle Eastern backgammon tables that were in his Chicago childhood home.

The gallery is open Monday through Thursday, 11:00 AM to 2:00PM and will run January 31 - February 26.

For more information contact Molly Carter, gallery director at MCarter@Rockford.edu or 815-226-4105.
