Works of Black American Writer, George C. Wolfe, to be read aloud for February’s Black American History Month
Students, faculty and staff at Rockford College will participate in a "Read Aloud of Black American Voices” in celebration of Black American History Month on February 27 from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. The event will take place at the Howard Colman Library located on the Rockford College Campus at 5050 East State Street, Rockford, Ill. The public is invited to attend.
Sponsored by the Rockford College English department, the event will feature the work of George C. Wolfe, The Colored Museum, a play consisting of eleven vignettes. The play cleverly and, at times, comically tells the story of Black American History. Kicking off the event is Sheryl Head, wife of college president Robert L. Head. Altogether, some 35 readers are expected to participate. Coffee and cookies will be served. For more information, contact Prof. Michael Perry at mperry@rockford.edu.
