The exhibition Birds and Bones brings together the unique vision of three contemporary artists whose works resonate with varying aspects of the natural world. Ron Bell melds aesthetics and mechanics in his inanimate sculptures, constructed of metal, wood, glass and natural bone. Mark Crisanti’s nostalgic and highly personal hybrid images that are part human, part bird make use of figurative painting and relics from the past. Kevin Veara’s lush paintings speak of the abundance and beauty as well as the fierceness and danger in nature as he depicts birds and plants of the Sangamon River Valley. The exhibition will be curated by Aron Packer of the Packer Schopf Gallery and Molly Carter of the Rockford College Art Gallery. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 3 – 6 p.m. and by appointment. Contact the Rockford College Art Gallery for more information at (815) 226 – 4000.
