In 1942, when computers were human and women were underestimated, a group of female mathematicians helped win a war and usher in the modern computer age. 65 years later, their story has finally been told by LeAnn Erickson, Associate Professor of film and video production at Temple University’s Department of Film and Media Arts. Erickson has been an independent video/filmmaker for over 20 years. Her work includes the feature length historical documentary Top Secret Rosies which she will discuss following a screening of the film. Erickson's work has appeared on public television, in galleries and has won national recognition in video/film festivals. Her animation work is screened internationally at venues including the International Short Film Festival in Oberhausen, the Auburn International Film Festival in Sydney and the 11th Feminale in Cologne, Germany. She was awarded the 2003 Pennsylvania Council on the Arts Fellowship for Media Arts.
