Each
academic year begins with the fresh prospect of exemplary achievement, both in
and out of the classroom. It is only fitting then that at the conclusion of the
academic year; we convene for Honors Day, a day that provides Rockford College
an opportunity to recognize the extraordinary academic and co-curricular
achievements of its students - and in a few cases, its faculty.
The
Honors Day celebration begins with award presentations within the three
academic divisions: Arts and Humanities, Science, Mathematics, and Nursing, and
Social and Behavioral Sciences and Education. These awards are followed by the athletic and
college-wide awards, and the celebration ends with the presentation of two
awards that recognize excellence in teaching - by both a full-time member of
the faculty and an adjunct faculty member.
We
thank the donors and family members for their support of these important awards
and prizes, to the faculty for your dedication to the students, and to the
students, whose hard work we recognize at Honors Day. We applaud the moms and dads, spouses,
siblings and family members of the award recipients. The outstanding
achievements recognized at Honors Day also represent the time, energy and
support provided by the family members of our students.
There
is a reception following the program in the narthex of Fisher Chapel. We invite
you to stay and congratulate our award recipients.
