Exhibition dates: October 8 – November 7, 2010
Sara’s work deals primarily with imagined microbiological systems rendered on a macro scale. She envisions and creates cells, organs, fluids and tissues, and seeks to assemble the elements into new systems of organic relationship and connection. From a neuron, one can gain insight into a nebula. She works in a variety of media and looks for ways
to take drawing beyond its traditional definition as "marks on paper.” Sara will be coordinating a 9x12’ collaborative drawing that starts with a basic compositional structure composed of indelible white marks on black paper. Students and gallery visitors are invited to contribute their marks to the piece in layers of color and material.
