Steve
Cochran was named the head men's tennis coach in the
Fall of 2007. Cochran begins his first season
with the Regents after serving as an assistant women's
basketball coach at Maryville University in St. Louis
.
Before
his stint at Maryville , Coach Cochran spent 8 years
at perennial power Washington University (MO). In
his 8 years with storied head coach Nancy Fahey, Cochran
enjoyed a stellar 211-17 record that included 8 University
Athletic Association Championships and 4 NCAA Division
III National Championships which he earned in his
first 4 years at Washington . In 2002-03, Cochran
was awarded the highest honor an assistant coach can
attain, the AFLAC National Assistant Coach of the
Year.
A
native of St. Louis , Coach Cochran graduated from
Vianney High School before earning his bachelor's
degree from the University of Missouri . Cochran
and his wife Kathy have two sons, Ryan (16) and Quinn
(13). |
