Staff
Randy Schrader
was named head coach of the Rockford College football program
in August of 2006.
Schrader enters
hs second season at the Regent's helm. In Coach Schrader's
first year, Rockford enjoyed one of its best seasons as
they finished 7-3 while earning the program's first UMAC
South Division crown. The South title led the Regents
to their first ever UMAC Championship game where they were
defeated in overtime by UM-Morris in the HHH Metrodome.
In 2006, Schrader led a team that ranked nationally
in the top 20 in 7 statistical categories and in the top
10 in rushing defense, interceptions and turnovers gained.
Prior to Rockford
College, Schrader spent over twenty years in the Iowa coaching
ranks. Coach Schrader was most recently head coach at Davenport
West (Iowa) High School. Schrader also spent nine
years as head coach at North Scott (Iowa) High School in
Davenport. During his tenure at North Scott, Coach
Schrader was responsible for producing the school's first
winning season in 18 years. In 1999 and 2000, Schrader
led the Lancers to consecutive Class 4A playoff appearances.
From 1987-92, he was head coach at Clarinda (Iowa) High
School. In that span, Schrader's team advanced to
the Class 2A semifinals. He also spent time as head
coach at Dow City-Arion (Iowa) and defensive coordinator
at Washington (Iowa) High School.
A Fairfield, Iowa,
native, Coach Coach Schrader played at Pekin High School
(’77) in Packwood, Iowa before receiving his Bachelor’s
Degree in History at William Penn College. Prior to
entering his high school coaching career, Schrader coached
the defensive backs at his alma mater, William Penn.
Schrader has had
a successful career at the high school level. He was
named 1999 Mississippi Athletic Conference Football Coach
of the Year as well as 1999 Southeast Iowa Class 4A/3A Football
Coach of the Year. His is a member of many professional
organizations such as the National Strength and Conditioning
Association, the Iowa Football Coaches Association and is
a certified instructor for 'Bigger, Faster, Stronger Strength
and Conditioning Program.'
Schrader and his
wife Denise are the parents of two children: Memorea and
Michael. Memorea works in human resources in health care
and Michael is a sophomore at Scott Community (Iowa) College.
Schrader and his
family resides in Cherry Valley.

Patrick
Babcock

Patrick Babcock was added to the Regents’
coaching staff in the spring
of 2007. Babcock takes on defensive coordinator
duties for the Regents.
Babcock
comes to the Regents by way of Macalester College
(MN) where he was the offensive line and tight end
coach in 2006.
Prior to
Macalester, Babcock gained some professional experience
while attending mini-camp with the NFL's Cleveland
Browns as well as working out for several other NFL
and Arena Football League teams.
Babcock,
a four year starter for the University of Illinois-Urbana
football program, played both offensive guard and
tackle for the Illini. The two-time All-Big
Ten performer started as a freshman on the Illini's
last conference championship team in 2001, a year
in which he was also named to the Freshman All-American
Team. Under Head Coach Ron Turner, current offensive
coordinator for the Chicago Bears, Babcock narrowly
missed tying the school's all-time record for starts
(48) by just one game. Babcock graduated from
Illinois in 2004 with a degree in Sports Management.
Born in
Freeport, IL, Babcock was an athletic triple threat
while at Stillman Valley High School, garnering 7
All-State recognitions in football, wrestling and
track. He was a two-way starter on SVHS's 2000
State Champion football team and a two-time State
Champion heavyweight wrestler.
Babcock currently resides in Winnebago, IL and is engaged
to be married to Angie Lewis.

Eckhardt

Skip Eckhardt was added to the Regents’ coaching
staff in the summer of 2006.
Eckhardt is the offensive coordinator for the Regents.
Coach Eckhardt brings over 20 years of coaching experience
to the Regents. Eckhardt most recently coached
in the high school ranks for an array of Davenport
(IA) high schools: West H.S., North Scott H.S.
and Central H.S. In 1996, Coach Eckhardt led
Crestwood (IA) H.S. to their first ever playoff appearance.
From
1989-93, he was the head coach at South Page (IA)
H.S. Prior to South Page, he was the Defensive
Line Coach at University of Northern Iowa (UNI) where
he helped lead the Panthers to a NCAA Division I-AA
Playoff Semi-final run. At UNI he coached former
notable defensive linemen, James Jones and Bryce Paup.
Prior
to his coaching stint at UNI, Eckhardt was the Head
Coach at Schleswig (IA) H.S. where he notched a career
record of 46-7 and recorded 1 State Championship and
5 Conference titles.
The
Fairmont, MN native was a 2nd team All Conference
defensive lineman at UNI where he received his B.A.
in Teaching in 1981.
Eckhardt and his
wife Sherry have four daughters: Kacy, Elizabeth,
Jennie and Amanda.

Mike
Morrissey
Quarterbacks (1st Season)

Mike Morrissey joined the Regents' coaching
staff in January 2007 after a season as a coach with
St. Cloud State University (Minn.). Coach Morrissey
will handle coaching responsibilities for the quarterbacks
and wide outs.
Morrissey was a four year member of the Upper Iowa
University football squad where he was the starting
quarterback for the Division II Peacocks. In
2006, he received his degree in Fitness and Wellness.
The
Iowa native brings two years of coaching experience
to the Regent's offense. Morrissey most recently
comes from St. Cloud State where he was the tight
ends coach. In his season with Huskies, Morrissey
guided Second Team All-North Central tight end Anders
Johnson.
During
the 2005-06 season, Morrissey was the running backs
coach for Upper Iowa University where he coached 1st
Team All-Independent Football Alliance (IFA) running
back TC Hicks. In 2005, Coach Morrissey also
had coaching duities with the Peacock quarterbacks.
Morrissey currently
resides in Rockford where he is pursuing a master's
degree in teaching. Morrissey is also married
to Jessica Ryan.

Anthony
Risa
Running Backs (2nd Season)

Anthony Risa joined the Regents' coaching staff
in 2006 after a stellar playing career for the Regents.
The Chicago native was an All-UMAC South running back
for Rockford from 2002-2005. His 2005 campaign
was cut short due to injuries.
Risa
is received his bachelor's degree in criminal justice
in December 2006 and is currently working towards
a masters degree.

Brent
Thompson
Defensive Backs (2nd Season)

Brent Thompson joined the Regents' coaching
staff for the 2006 campaign after graduating with
a B.S. in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois-Urbana.
Thompson's coaching experience include stints in the
high and college ranks. Prior to Rockford College,
Thompson was the tight ends and special teams coach
at Normal Community West (Normal, Ill.) High School
('05). At Normal West, Coach Thompson was part
of a staff that finished the year as a state finalist.
He also contributed as a student assistant to the
special teams coach at the University of Illinois
('01-'04).
Thompson played his high school days at Central A&M
(Moweaqua, Ill.) High School where he was All-State
tackle in 2000. The Decatur, Ill. native is
single and is currently working towards his Master's
degree in teaching.

Miller

Cory
Miller joined the Regents football staff in January
2008. Miller will act as the Regents' defensive
line coach and Rockford College intramurals coordinator.
Miller
comes to Rockford after completing a two-year stint
as a graduate assistant as Southwest Minnesota University.
During his two years at SMSU, Miller coached the cornerbacks
and defensive line.
A
Native of Marshalltown, IA, Miller graduated from
the University of Northern Iowa in 2005, with a degree
in Sports Psychology and Psychology. During
his time at UNI, Miller acted as a student assistant,
spending three years working with the running backs
and two with the linebackers. The Panthers won
the Gateway Conference Championship three times during
Miller's years there, including a 2005 trip to the
Division I Football Championship Subdivision (formerly
Division I-AA) championship game.
Miller,
who now lives in Rockford, IL, is currently completing
his master's degree in Sports Leadership with an emphasis
in Marketing from SMSU.
