We hope you make plans to attend Reunion at Homecoming 2008, during the weekend of October 11, 2008.

To give you an idea of the kinds of activities that take place during our annual Reunion at Homecoming, we have left the 2007 schedule posted at this page. If you have suggestions for this year’s Reunion, please don’t hesitate to contact us at Alumni@rockford.edu.

2007 SCHEDULE

DAY 1

9 a.m. - 6 p.m.     Registration

Pick up your packet, check messages, and arrange for a campus tour - pause and refresh. Burpee Center Lobby

9 a.m. - 4 p.m.   Open Classrooms

Classes open to Alumni. A list is available at registration or online after Oct. 1. Campus Classroom Buildings

12:30 p.m.     Golden Grad Luncheon

The class of 1957 are honored guests. All other Alumnae/i who have celebrated their 50th reunions are also invited to attend for free. Need a ride? Let us know and we will arrange transportation. There is a meal charge for guests of Golden Grads. See registration form. Grace Roper Lounge – Burpee Center

2 p.m.       Alumni Sing-Along

Join our student group, Vocal Collective in singing College favorites. Bring your voice. Everyone welcome – Grace Roper Lounge – Burpee Center

3 – 6 p.m.     Art Gallery Open

Exhibition– TBA. Clark Arts Center

6:30 p.m.    All-Alumni Celebration Dinner

A cocktail hour with a live jazz combo is followed by a variety of great, made-to-order food, Alumni awards, entertainment, and special guests. All capped off with desert and DECUS . Registration required for dinner. Regents Hall, Burpee Center

9 p.m. - 1 a.m.     Alumni/Student Karaoke

A good opportunity to mix with students. Come to watch, or do your best Elvis. Lion's Den

DAY 2

Just arriving? Pick up your packet and check messages. Burpee Center Lobby

9:30 – 10:00     Memorial Service

This service honors all Alumni and Friends of the college who passed away since last October. Adams Hall Arch

10 a.m.       Alumni Softball and Baseball

Smith Athletic Fields

10:30 – 11:45 a.m.   Alumni Association Meeting

Light morning fare is served while you catch up on affairs of the Association during its annual meeting and installation of officers. Join an in-depth discussion on the state-of-the-college with President Richard Kneedler. Grace Roper Lounge, Burpee Center

Noon     Time for Lunch?

Buy a salad or sandwich in the cafeteria, picnic near the tennis courts, or tailgate with friends in the parking lot. There will be a tailgate contest – Theme TBA - Check web for details after Sept. 17.

1:00 p.m.     Football Kickoff

Watch the Regents take on the Blackburn College Beavers. Enjoy the Alumni tent adjacent to the field - Food and beverages available.

1 - 3:45 p.m.   Student/Faculty presentations

As an alternative to football you can attend any or all of four, 30 minute presentations on summer research projects conducted by student/faculty research teams. Topics range from Rhetoric to Voice Pedagogy, to the Cold War and Diversity. Schedule available on website after Sept. 17, or at registration. Forrest Cool Lounge – Burpee Center

6 p.m.     Class Time

Saturday evenings are set aside for classes/groups to make plans on their own. We can assist in securing arrangements on or off campus for your group. Want to know what yours or other classes are doing? Contact your class representative or Alumni Relations – we will help.

8 p.m.     Somewhere Over the Rainbow

The performing arts department will perform select pieces from a Harold Arlen musical review. Registration required. Cheek Theatre – Clark Arts Center

10:00     Homecoming Dance

DAY 3

10:00 am     Alumni Renewal of Vows  

Hundreds of Alumni couples met while attending Rockford College (505 in all). This is a memorable opportunity for anyone to renew their wedding vows in the beautiful Fisher Chapel. Registration required.

2:00 p.m.     Alumni Soccer Game
