Academic Departments I Nursing I Programs of Study

A passion for people.

The Nursing Department offers the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Within this degree program, several educational options are available by which students may obtain their desired degree.

BSN Program (BSN) is a traditional baccalaureate program in nursing. The degree requires 124 semester credit hours of study. Graduates of this track will be prepared to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN®). After passing this examination they will be eligible to begin a career as a registered professional nurse.

BSN Completion (BSN-C) is designed specifically for the working nurse who has an associate's degree or diploma in nursing from a regionally accredited program and wants to complete a quality bachelor's degree program. The BSN-C requires completion or validation of 124 credit hours. Of these, up to 60 credit hours are awarded for the prior diploma or associate degree in nursing and 64 credit hours are required for completion or validation within the BSN-C (see pp. 24-25 of the Nursing Student Handbook).
