Academic Departments I Mathematics I Programs of Study

A passion for mathematics.

The Mathematics department offers Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science programs that reveal mathematics as one of the humanities - a creation of the human mind. We also offer a minor. We emphasize the value of the broad studies to acquire the Bachelor of Arts, and we urge all mathematics majors to develop foreign language skills.

While some courses fulfill a service role for all-college requirements and (notably statistics and other applied areas) for majors in the sciences and social sciences, a resurgence of majors in mathematics is under way nationally and at Rockford College.
