The Rockford College Family Business Center (RCFBC) is designed specifically to focus on the challenges faced by family businesses. RCFBC sponsors and members address the many unique issues faced by a family-owned business. The RCFBC is a partnership between the Rockford College Department of Economics, Business, & Accounting, quality RCFBC sponsoring organizations, and family-owned businesses located in the Rock River Valley.

Mission
To provide members of family-owned businesses with opportunities to secure support services, networking opportunities, training, and resources that will promote the success of their firms.

Vision
To create an organization that will support and help strengthen family businesses in the Rock River Valley. The Center will enable family businesses to prosper in a changing, complex, and competitive environment.

 

Membership Opportunities

Programs: An important component of the RCFBC is the opportunity for the owners of family-owned businesses to network with each other. Sharing ideas, solving problems, and creating opportunities with one another is of great value to family business owners. Business roundtable discussions, focused on the unique aspects of family-owned businesses, is an important component of the program.

Curriculum: Some key issues the Center will address include:

  • Leadership Development
  • Succession Planning
  • Estate Planning
  • Training & Development
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Management Issues

Annual Fee: The annual membership fee for the RCFBC is $1,000.

 

Sponsorship Opportunities

The RCFBC is currently seeking sponsors who believe that family-owned businesses are the heart and soul of a community and provide the best opportunity for long-run economic growth in a community. Sponsors will have the unique opportunity to help develop and strengthen family businesses in the Rock River Valley. Only one organization from any business service area will participate as a sponsor. Participation on the RCFBC Advisory Board and recognition at all RCFBC events and in all RCFBC publications are also sponsor benefits. Currently, the Center is seeking sponsors who will commit to support the Center for two years for an annual fee of $5,000.
