Our curriculum is constantly crossing borders. Even our survey courses merge British and American literature with texts by the ancient Greeks and the writings of Chinese dissidents. In the English department, our courses offer you the opportunity to follow the migratory patterns of African Americans, enter King Arthur's world, or delve into Middle Eastern poetry!
Class sizes typically range between 15 and 20 students. Our upper-level courses often have as few as six to 10 students. This allows professors and students the opportunity to get to know each other and meet their educational goals.
