We host a Career and Internship Fair each Spring and Fall semester. Our 2013 Career and Internship Fair is being held on Wednesday, September 25th from 1pm - 4pm. If you are interested in participating, please see further details and registration information below.

Time: 1:00 to 4:00pm, Employer registration begins at 12:15pm to 12:45
Location: Physical Education Center, Rock Valley College Campus
Who: Students and alumni from Rockford College, Rock Valley College and the surrounding community
- Why an internship and career fair?
Career and Internship Fair provides employers with an opportunity to meet talented students and alumni, collect resumes and interview candidates. It also, allows employers to reach a large pool of potential candidates.
- Why host an intern?
Almost four out of five respondents to NACE’s 2012 Internship & Co-op Survey reported that feeding the entry-level hire pipeline was the primary focus of their internship programs. In fact, the survey showed that of the total expected new college hires in 2011-12, more than 40 percent came from employers’ own internship programs. Internships are also a great way to determine if a student is a good fit for your company. According to the National Association of Universities and Employers, employers with internship programs view their internships as an effective way of identifying and connecting with talent
- What is the cost to register?
There is a $50 registration that includes one eight foot table, two chairs, and lunch and refreshments for two recruiters. If additional chairs are needed, please contact Career Services at Rockford University by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Payment must be received prior to the fair in order to finalize registrations. We accept credit card registrations including Visa, MasterCard, and Discover, and checks can be made payable to Rockford University.

- Is there a cancellation fee?
Cancellations received less than two weeks prior to the fair will only be refunded half of the registration fee, but those received prior to the two week window will receive a full refund.

- Speed Networking
In the spring, we offer a speed networking event where students get the chance to meet with ten professionals for ten minutes each. This event allows students to practice their interviewing and networking skills, and employers get the chance to mentor students and also potentially find candidates if they have available internships or jobs (although it is not required for employers to have open positions in order to participate). There is no cost to attend.
