The exhibitions in the Rockford College Art Gallery are made possible in part through the generosity of Lonand Richard Behr.
Inspired by the
naming of an image taken by the Hubble telescope of a particularly small and
deep part of the universe, Ultra-Deep
Field includes the work of nine contemporary artists that considers the
vast, yet relative scales upon which contexts are constructed. Instead of
searching for dimmer and more distant objects in the sky, the exhibition
searches for more distant objects that may come by way of hand.
invites discussion about the way art objects and images are used to identify
‘the everyday’ by asking the viewer to become more active in the meaning making
